Steve is a founding member and principal of Summit. At Summit, Steve is responsible for overseeing the asset management and loan operation functions of the firm and participates in acquisition activities from an underwriting and strategic point of view. Steve has over 20 years of experience in distressed residential and commercial real estate as well as commercial and industrial and asset-based lending markets working in both the underwriting and asset resolution sides of the business. Steve holds key strategic roles (including board positions) in several privately held companies in which Summit holds a vested interest.

Prior to Summit’s inception, Steve developed and managed the Special Assets group’s asset management function at Republic Financial Corporation. He has also worked with Ocwen Financial Corporation, Wilshire Financial Corporation, Univest Financial Corporation and Bank One Texas, NA. Steve served 12 years in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve. 

Steve holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at Arlington and is an active member of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. He has spoken at many industry conferences and participated on numerous panels throughout his career, primarily on the subjects of distressed loan work-outs and bankruptcy matters. Steve enjoys spending time with his wife of 10 years and his five children.
